Lucy forms a team with Natsu and Happy and accepts a job to steal a book entitled Daybreak from Everlue Mansion, only to discover that the job has been changed to destroying the book, with the reward greatly increased. They break into the mansion and find the book, but Lucy reads it and discovers its hidden secrets. Before they can destroy the book, they are confronted by the mansion's owner, Duke Everlue, and his mercenaries.
